Microsoft CES: Putting it all Together

I know I know.. talking about CES on the day of Macworld, is about as attractive as New York's Mom, but I am excited about some of the integration features Microsoft has rolled out with the deployment of Vista. I own quite a few of the items slated to have some sort of integration with Vista, including Xbox360, Zune, even Windows Mobile on my Smartphone. Windows Vista would bring a lot of those devices together, in conjunction with technologies such as XBox Live, Live Search, Media Center, Microsoft TV, and Microsoft Auto.

Speaking of auto, Microsoft also announced a collaboration with Ford to create a new technology they call, Sync (real creative name). Sync will allow the ability to link your cell phone and Zune with your car stereo. This new technology, expected in a dozen Ford vehicles this year, will allow users to sync their address books and music files from their cell phones and/or Zune to their compatible Ford Vehicle seamlessly without disconnect the call. The Sync software also touts text to speech software, allowing incoming text messages to be read aloud.

What's Up with Young Black Athletes?

Darrent Williams, Cornerback for the Denver Broncos, was shot and killed Monday when his Hummer Limo, was sprayed with gun fire while leaving an altercation at a nightclub. This comes on the heels of the shooting death of Chicago Bear's Defensive Tackle Tank Johnson's friend/bodyguard after an altercation outside Chi-Town nightclub.

These are just a few incidents in what's becoming a reoccurring theme with young black athletes . Dave Krieger, writer for ScrippsNews touches on this in his article we can all learn from Williams' death.

Krieger writes:

The other day, writing about Williams' death, I said the shootings of Williams, Steelers linebacker Joey Porter and Nuggets guard Julius Hodge _ all in and around Denver since 2003 _ had at least three things in common.
I mentioned guns, pro athletes as victims and roughly 2 o'clock as the time of night. Several correspondents pointed out one of the other things they had in common: All three famous shooting victims were African-Americans.

Back in Time! I am so blessed to have such a rich heritage. I can close my eyes a still still see some of the images I imagined when hearing the stories, passed down generations. They were wonderful as just stories, how cool would it be to see it live!

Vox: What's the Hype About?

I have seen quite a few of my favorite bloggers abandon their traditional blogs to "Board the Vox Bandwagon", so I created my own account to see what the hype was about. I have only been here for an hour, and already have my Flickr page linked, browse through neighborhoods, and invited friends and family join.

So far so good.
