Darrent Williams, Cornerback for the Denver Broncos, was shot and killed Monday when his Hummer Limo, was sprayed with gun fire while leaving an altercation at a nightclub. This comes on the heels of the shooting death of Chicago Bear's Defensive Tackle Tank Johnson's friend/bodyguard after an altercation outside Chi-Town nightclub.
These are just a few incidents in what's becoming a reoccurring theme with young black athletes . Dave Krieger, writer for ScrippsNews touches on this in his article we can all learn from Williams' death.

The other day, writing about Williams' death, I said the shootings of Williams, Steelers linebacker Joey Porter and Nuggets guard Julius Hodge _ all in and around Denver since 2003 _ had at least three things in common.
I mentioned guns, pro athletes as victims and roughly 2 o'clock as the time of night. Several correspondents pointed out one of the other things they had in common: All three famous shooting victims were African-Americans.
